Author and Digital Literature
October 15th, 2006
My ideas gave the author the role of a teacher. The intentions of what is being taught is to be learned, and I think an author has a reason or gives a learning sense to mind when displaying their writings. An author often wants you to give more thought into what they write to participate or question their point of view on a particular position.
I couldn’t really make any sense from these literary devices because I got too caught up in playing the game asteroids. The tiny ship is able to shoot letters before they crash into him. The arrangement of the game was a little discouraging because the asteroids weren’t actually asteroids but actually little letters that turned into words and phrases if you wanted them to. This also distracted me because I got caught up making words and phrases myself. I think the intention behind the game was to get the reader thinking of anything that they saw on the screen. The purpose was to introduce a different type of language and thinking using yet another style of literature, expressed through a game.
