(Intellectual Property)
- recognize that posting to a web log or releasing a podcast is a form of publication
- do not copy or distribute contractually protected and/or copyrighted software, information, or media, e.g., music, video, images
- know and observe the limits of educational fair use;
- use public domain, educationally licensed, or GNU/share-alike materials in your productions
(Responsible Use)
- do not use university weblogs for commercial purposes or charge for a service provided through university technology resources
- do not disrupt or impede service through excessive commenting or spamming
(Information Integrity)
- do not circumvent system security
- do not tamper with or make unauthorized changes to someone else’s weblog account
- do not use someone else’s account, give out your password, or allow others to post content through your account
(Civility)
- communicate respectfully and civilly and promote a diverse, tolerant, and open environment
- do not display offensive materials, child pornography, or sexually explicit web pages or graphics
- do not use words to embarrass, intimidate, threaten, harass, or create a hostile, offensive environment
